The Annual conference of the Italian Society of Law and Economics 2020

The Annual Conference of the Italian Association of Law and Economics (SIDE) will be held on December 16-19, 2020, online.
Programe objectives:

The purpose of the conference is to provide a discussion forum for all researchers interested in a interdisciplinary approach to Law and Economics. The Conference accepts original works in :

  •  The economic institutions of capitalism”: “Taking stock, looking ahead”
  •  The (post) Covid-19 crisis: Legal, economic and ethical challenges
  •  Law-and-Economics approaches to labour
  • Behavioral Law and Economics applied to public policies issues

 In 2020, due to COVID-19 pandemic, the annual conference of the Italian Society of Law and Economics will not be an in-person meeting. Instead, it will be structured in an online format on three main virtual events

  • Submission fees: there is no fee to attend the 2020 SIDE-ISLE conference. However, the registration is mandatory and membership fee (40 euros) is vividly recommended to presenters for supporting activities of the association

GPODS Fellowship

Global Policy Insights (GPI), International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation are launching an international online fellowship called the Global Policy, Diplomacy and Sustainability (GPODS) Fellowship. GPODS is a program for public policy practitioners, sustainability experts, business professionals, energy experts, entrepreneurs, academicians, scholars and strategic analysts to act as a launchpad for their careers.
  • It seeks to train and create a consortium of highly skilled young professionals over a period of three months from across the world who are at the inflection point of their careers.
  • Organizers have been lucky to have had confirmations from all around the globe including from eminent Chief Justices, Defence Strategists, Former Ministers, Asst. Secretary General of the UN and many more, who would not only be delivering lectures but also mentoring the fellows, through ‘interactive office hours’ and networking events.

5th annual conference of the French Association of Law and Economics

The 5th Annual Conference of the French Association of Law and Economics (AFED) will be held on October 15-16, 2020, on the campus of the University of Paris Nanterre (Max Weber Building).

The purpose of AFED isto provide a discussion forum for all researchers interested in aninterdisciplinary approachtolaw and economics. The Conference accepts original works in both disciplines, law and economics, adopting this approach, on allrelevant topics.

The University of Marburg is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d) in the Public Economics Group.

The Public Economics Group, School of Business and Economics at the University of Marburg, is seeking to recruit a post-doctoral Researcher (m/f/d). The Position starts in November 2020. The successful candidate has the opportunity to develop her/his academic profile in research and teaching for 4 years, with a possible prolongation.

Position requires successfully completed graduate studies in either economics or business, a PhD in economics, and a very good working knowledge in the areas public economics and applied microeconomics.

The Summer Institute in Computational Social Science Maastricht 2020

From June 14 to June 26, the Maastricht Law & Tech Lab will be hosting The Summer Institute in Computational Social Science Maastricht (SICCS Maastricht).

Program’s objectives:

The purpose of the Summer Institute is to bring together graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and beginning faculty interested in computational social science. SICSS-Maastricht is for legal researchers, social scientists (broadly conceived) and data scientists (broadly conceived). SICCS Maastricht is unique among partner locations in its focus on legal data, both from the perspective of collection as well as analysis . Throughout the duration of the Institute in Maastricht, we will explore how computational methods can be applied to legal research questions.

Collective decision-making

Interview Date May 2020

The University of Hamburg invites applications for a Research associate position in collective decision-making.

Admission to the programme:

A Master’s degree in a research oriented Master’s program in Economics, Philosophy or Political Science or in an interdisciplinary Master’s program involving these disciplines. The Master’s program should be closely related to the graduate program. On completion of the Master’s degree (including a Bachelor’s degree) applicants must have reached the equivalent of 300 ECTS points. The Master’s degree must have been awarded by a recognized university or equivalent institution of higher education. Research associates must have an excellent command of English. 

Overview:

Research associates have to complete the doctoral qualification program and to write a doctoral dissertation in Economics, Philosophy or Political Science on a topic related to the research program of the graduate program. Presence in Hamburg is required (except for research related absences).
