Regulations of the Best Student Paper Prize awarded during the 10th Polish Law and Economics Conference

GENERAL INFORMATION 

 

§1 

 

  1. The Best Students Paper Prize Competition (hereinafter: Competition) forms the part of the 10th  Polish Law & Economics Conference (hereinafter: Conference). 

  2. The Competition is organized by:

    1. Polish Association of Law and Economics,

    2. Centre for Economic Analyses of Public Sector at Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Warsaw, 

  3. The Conference will take place on May 23-24, 2025 at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Warsaw. 

 

§2 

 

The aim of the Competition is to promote the developing interdisciplinary scientific movement of Law and Economics among students as well as to enrich their knowledge regarding the use of economic tools in enacting, applying, and teaching law.  

 

§3 

 

  1. Undergraduate and master students are eligible to participate in the Competition, regardless of the faculty and semester of studies. 

  2. To participate in the Competition, one shall have a student status (student ID card valid minimum to May 31, 2025). 

 

THE COMPETITION 

 

§4 

 

  1. To participate in the Competition, one shall submit an individually written paper concerning Law and Economics to conference@pseap.org. 

  2. The paper should contain not less than 3000 and more than 8000 words (format: A4, font: Times New Roman 12 pt, standard margins). 

  3. If the paper has been published before, it should be noted where and when it was published. 

  4. The paper should be written in English. 

  5. At the moment of submitting the paper, the author should provide the following information: name and surname, university, faculty and semester. 

  6. The submitted paper should be accompanied by an abstract (of the length up to 250 words). The abstract should state the main aim of the paper, basic hypotheses, applied methodology and the most important conclusions.

  7. The submission deadline is April  15, 2025. 

 

§5 

 

  1. From all submissions the Scientific Committee will select three papers for the award. The members of the Scientific Committee will be selected by the Board of the Polish Association of Law and Economics from among distinguished scientists specializing in Law and Economics.

  2. The results of the Competition will be announced on April 30, 2025 on the webpage of the Polish Association of Law and Economics. 

  3. The winners will be informed via e-mail.

 

THE PRIZES 

 

§6 

 

  1. Authors of the three papers, mentioned in §5, will be rewarded with: 

    1. books prizes, 

    2. the possibility to present the submitted paper during the student panel of the Conference.

  2. By participating in the Competition, the participants agree to present their paper as mentioned in point 1b. The refusal to grant such consent will result in the withdrawal of the paper from the Competition. 

 

COPYRIGHTS AND PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING

 

§7 

 

Submitted works have to be original and cannot violate or infringe on any copyright or other personal or property rights of any third parties.

 

§8 

 

The administrator of personal data included in the registration is the Polish Association of Law & Economics (ul. Długa 44/50, 00-241 Warsaw). Participants consent to the processing of their personal data contained in the registration, in accordance with the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data. Participants also consent to processing their personal data for the purposes of any future processes related to the Competition.

 

FINAL PROVISIONS 

 

§9 

 

  1. The Organizers reserve the right to reward a different number of participants than those listed in §6 as well as not to grant any reward. 

  2. The Organizers reserve the right to revoke the Competition, if such necessity will be caused by technical failure, final court judgment, an administrative decision, the change of law or force majeure within the meaning of civil law. The organizers will announce the revocation of the Competition by the means adapted for disseminating information about the Competition. 

 

§10 

 

The organizers reserve the right to change the Competition regulations to the extent required to ensure the proper conduct of the Competition. Changes will be binding from the moment of the publication on the Conference webpage.
