Topic: “Safety Last? Political Supervision of Bureaucratic Performance and Worker Safety in French Mines during the Industrial Revolution”
About the speaker: Raphaël Franck is a professor at the Institute of Economics and Law at the University of Stuttgart, a member of CEPR, and President of the European Public Choice Society (EPCS). His research has been published in leading academic journals such as Econometrica, The Economic Journal, American Political Science Review, Journal of Monetary Economics, and Review of Economics and Statistics. His work focuses primarily on political economy and macroeconomics.
